Leadpages Stripe Checkouts (2026): Sell Products and Take Payments on Your Pages

How to connect Stripe to Leadpages, add an embedded checkout to a landing page, choose what to sell and avoid the gaps that catch sellers out.

Updated November 7, 2026

Leadpages Stripe checkouts let you sell directly on a landing page: you connect your Stripe account, drop a checkout button or payment form onto the page, and buyers pay without leaving it. Leadpages says it adds no transaction fee of its own, so your cost is your plan plus Stripe's processing fees. Below are the setup steps, what you can sell, the other gateways Leadpages lists, and the limits worth knowing before you build a store around it.

What a Stripe Checkout on Leadpages Does

Payment card resting on a laptop keyboard

A Leadpages checkout is a payment element that sits on your page rather than a separate cart. Leadpages describes the Stripe version as embedded: the visitor enters card details on the same landing page they were reading, Stripe processes the card, and the money lands in your Stripe account. Leadpages says Stripe handles the card data and sends receipt emails and payment confirmations.

That makes it a good fit for a stripe payment landing page with one clear offer: an ebook, a workshop seat, a coaching package or a membership. It is not a shopping cart. There is no product catalogue or basket for buyers to fill, which matters if you sell many items; more on that under limits below.

Leadpages also tracks total revenue, number of purchases, average order value and revenue per visitor, and you can use purchases as the goal in an A/B test. That is the main reason to use a landing page with Stripe integration built in rather than pasting a payment link onto any page: you can see which version of the page earns more, not just which one gets more clicks.

Which Plan You Need

Leadpages' help center says checkout requires a paid plan with e-commerce enabled and tells you to check your plan under Dashboard, then Billing. Its checkout product page offers the 7-day free trial without saying which plans include checkouts, so confirm on your account before you launch a paid campaign. Plan prices are in the Leadpages pricing guide.

How to Connect Stripe and Add a Checkout Page in Leadpages

  1. Create or sign in to Stripe. You need a Stripe account that is able to accept live payments in your country.
  2. Open your page in the Leadpages editor. A sales page template is a good starting point; see Leadpages sales page templates.
  3. Open the Add panel and choose the Checkout tab. Select Stripe and click Connect.
  4. Sign in to Stripe and approve the connection. Leadpages says existing Stripe products and prices sync automatically.
  5. Add a checkout button or payment form to the page. You can also ask the AI builder to add one; Leadpages' own example prompt is a checkout section for a $49 monthly subscription with Stripe.
  6. Configure the checkout. In the checkout settings choose the gateway, set the currency, the product, the price and quantity, and add an order bump if you want one.
  7. Publish and test. Make one small live purchase, confirm it in Stripe and the Leadpages analytics, then refund it from Stripe.

What You Can Sell

  • Digital products: ebooks, templates, guides and recordings. Leadpages' older automatic file delivery is a legacy feature that newer accounts do not have, so send the download link on the thank-you page or from your email tool. Layout ideas are in ebook landing pages.
  • Courses and memberships: Leadpages lists subscriptions, payment plans and memberships, with Stripe handling renewals and retries. Access to the course itself still lives in your course or membership platform; see Leadpages for online courses.
  • Services and bookings: consultations, audits or event seats with one fixed price each.
  • Physical products: possible, but Leadpages' older FAQ says it does not handle tax, shipping or delivery logistics. For a real store, read Leadpages for ecommerce first.

If you want to offer several service levels, such as Basic and Premium, create one checkout per level. Leadpages' older FAQ described one product per checkout and suggested separate checkouts, for example two buttons each opening its own checkout, to sell two products from one page.

Order Bumps and Recurring Payments

An order bump is a small add-on offered with a checkbox at the point of payment, such as a workbook alongside a course. Leadpages lists order bumps on its checkout page as a way to raise the average order value. Recurring payments cover monthly subscriptions and payment plans, with Stripe managing renewals. Both pair well with a low-priced entry offer; self-liquidating offer funnels explains how that model uses an order bump to cover ad costs.

Stripe Fees and Other Gateways

Leadpages says it charges nothing on top of Stripe's processing. Stripe's US pricing page lists 2.9% plus 30 cents per successful domestic card charge, plus 1.5% for international cards and another 1% when currency conversion is needed. Rates differ by country, so check Stripe's pricing page for yours. Leadpages' older FAQ notes that checkout prices follow the currency set in Stripe.

On the new platform, Leadpages' help center lists four other gateways: PayPal, Shopify, Lemon Squeezy for digital products and Gumroad for creator sales. 2Checkout is not on Leadpages' integrations page or in that gateway list, so there is no native connection to rely on. If you are tied to it, link a button to a checkout page hosted by 2Checkout instead.

Limits to Know Before You Sell

The current checkout help article is short and does not cover coupons, tax, shipping or refunds. Leadpages' older Checkouts FAQ has described these limits, and they are worth checking with support if they matter to your offer:

  • No coupon codes in the widget. The suggested workaround was a separate discounted product.
  • No tax or shipping handling. Shipping fields are passed to Stripe only; working out tax and fulfilment is up to you.
  • One product per checkout. Multiple products mean multiple checkouts, not a cart.
  • Refunds happen in Stripe. The checkout only processes the initial charge.
  • No Stripe test mode. Test with a small live payment.

If you need a cart, upsell pages after purchase or a full order flow, a funnel builder may suit you better; compare options in the sales funnel builder roundup. For everything else Leadpages includes, see Leadpages features or the other connections in the integrations hub.

Troubleshooting Stripe and Leadpages

  • Error message on the checkout: make sure the Stripe account is fully activated for live payments and that the connection shows as active in the checkout settings.
  • Checkout option missing in the editor: your plan may not have e-commerce enabled; check Dashboard, then Billing.
  • Charge rejected for a very small price: Stripe enforces minimum amounts per currency; Leadpages' older FAQ cites a 50-cent minimum for US dollars.
  • Payment taken but no file delivered: add the download link to the thank-you page or your welcome email.

Frequently Asked Questions

Does Leadpages work with Stripe?

Yes. Stripe is the payment integration Leadpages lists on its integrations page. You connect your Stripe account from the page editor, add a checkout button or form, and payments go straight to your Stripe account. Leadpages says it charges nothing on top of Stripe's own processing fees.

Can you take payments through Leadpages without Stripe?

Leadpages' help center also lists PayPal, Shopify, Lemon Squeezy and Gumroad as checkout gateways on the new platform. Stripe is the one Leadpages describes in most detail, with embedded checkout, order bumps and recurring payments.

Does Leadpages work with 2Checkout?

Leadpages does not list 2Checkout (now part of Verifone) on its integrations page or among the checkout gateways in its help center. If you must use it, the realistic route is a button on your Leadpages page that links to a checkout hosted by 2Checkout, with the sale tracked on their side.

Can I add a coupon code to a Leadpages checkout?

Leadpages' older Checkouts FAQ said coupon codes were not supported in the checkout widget and suggested creating a separate discounted product instead. The current help article does not mention coupons, so confirm with Leadpages support before you plan a promo-code campaign.

How do I sell an ebook on Leadpages?

Build a sales page, add a checkout for the ebook, then deliver the file with a link on the thank-you page or from your email tool. Lemon Squeezy and Gumroad, both listed as gateways, are built for digital products if you want them to handle delivery. See ebook landing pages for page structure.

How do I test a Leadpages checkout?

Preview the page and check the checkout settings, then make a small real purchase and refund it in Stripe. Leadpages' older FAQ said Stripe's test mode database is not supported, so a live low-value test is the reliable check.
